Michelle Miller Named to Savoy Professional Magazine's Top 100 Most Influential Blacks in Corporate America

Medtronic, Inc. (NYSE: MDT) today announced that the company’s vice president and senior counsel, Michelle Miller, has been named to Savoy Professional magazine’s list of most influential blacks in corporate America. The top 100 listing showcases a cross section of business leaders and executives who represent a diverse range of industries with a national and global focus. "This is prestigious recognition for Michelle and we’re excited about her being named to this elite list of individuals,” said Terry Carlson, senior vice president and general counsel at Medtronic. "In her role, Michelle has driven a great deal of change within Medtronic, serving as an advocate for workplace legal, policy, diversity, and inclusion issues. Her expertise in our legal department is invaluable. What’s more, her involvement in the community supports our mission to give back to the communities where we live and work.” Miller joined Medtronic as an employment law attorney in 1996. She has served the company as vice president and senior counsel, employment law since 1998 and assumed increasing responsibilities at Medtronic during that time. She is a member of the Executive Leadership Council, the Council of Diversity Executives IV of the Conference Board and President of the Minneapolis St. Paul Chapter of the Links, Inc., a nonprofit volunteer organization committed to broad community service with a focus on youth and the arts. Miller earned her law degree from the University of Minnesota, a master’s degree in counseling from Southern Methodist University and a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University. She was also named a "Woman Worth Watching,” by The Diversity Journal, in 2007.
