American Express Launches Generous Holiday Rewards Points Promotions for Charge Cardmembers

Just in time for the peak holiday shopping season, American Express is making holiday shopping a more rewarding experience for Charge Cardmembers enrolled in the Membership Rewards program by offering generous bonus Membership Rewards promotions for online shopping. From Black Friday (November 27th) through Cyber Monday (November 30^th), American Express is exclusively offering to eligible Charge Cardmembers triple Membership Rewards points on every purchase¹, up to $5,000, made on Amazon.com, which offers a large selection of great gifts for the holidays.

In addition, American Express is offering a limited-time promotion that allows Platinum Card® members to earn six times the Membership Rewards points and American Express Gold and Green Cardmembers the opportunity to earn five times the points when they shop at a selection of 25 popular online retailers, including gap.com, macys.com, and oldnavy.com, through its online portal, bonuspointsmall.com. The promotion is available through December 31, 2009.

Through the Bonus Points Mall site, Platinum Cardmembers can also continue to earn four times the Membership Rewards points, while American Express Gold and Green Cardmembers can continue to earn three times the points on all purchases made at more than 250 participating online stores. Kohl’s and Sony are just some of the sought after retailers available on the site.

Each year, a large number of holiday shoppers opt to shop for gifts from the comfort of their home computers. In fact, according to a new survey of 2,011 adults by American Express, more than half of consumers say they plan to do their holiday shopping online this year. By offering these rich online promotions, American Express is helping savvy shoppers enjoy the comfort and convenience of shopping from home while building their rewards points bank with every gift they buy.

Charge Cardmembers continue to have the opportunity to enroll to earn double points on gas and grocery purchases nationwide, up to $1,000 each month, through March 15, 2010, especially important during the heavy holiday travel and entertaining season.
