Banc of America Securities Hires Steven R. Winter as Head of Fixed Inc

NEW YORK, April 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Banc of America Securities (BAS) today announced the appointment of Steven R. Winter as Managing Director and Head of Fixed Income Prime Brokerage. Mr. Winter is based in New York and reports to Christopher Pesce, Global Head of Prime Brokerage.

BAS has provided prime brokerage services in select areas of fixed income since 2002. Mr. Winter will spearhead efforts to expand its suite of prime brokerage services to ultimately include all areas of fixed income.

"Steven has a proven track record of building businesses and brings extensive expertise in the fixed income and futures markets. As we continue to build on the strength of Bank of America's equity, foreign exchange and existing fixed income prime brokerage offering for clients, we are delighted to have someone of Steven's stature join our team," said Pesce.

A 30-year veteran of the financial services industry, Mr. Winter joins BAS from Barclays Capital Inc., where he most recently was North American Head of Fixed Income Prime Brokerage and previously North American Head of Futures and Global Head of Commodity Prime Brokerage.

Mr. Winter is a member of the Board of Directors of the Futures Industry Association; a member of the New York Mercantile Exchange, the Commodity Exchange, Chicago Board of Trade and the Chicago Mercantile Exchange; serves on the Business Conduct Committee of the New York Board of Trade and is the former Chairman of the Bond Market Association's Committee on Fixed Income Prime Brokerage.

Mr. Winter holds a B.B.A. from the City University of New York, Bernard M. Baruch College.
