Lockheed Martin Corporation -- Moody's: Lockheed Martin's $915 Million Space Fence Award is Credit Positive

New York, June 03, 2014 -- Moody's Investors Service said that the 2 June $915 million Space Fence contract award by the Air Force to Lockheed Martin Corp. (Baa1 stable), which the company estimates could have a total contract value greater than $1.5 billion over the expected eight-year period of performance if all options are exercised, is a credit positive development. Lockheed Martin, along with its key subcontractor General Dynamics Corp. (A2 stable), will develop a large ground-based radar system in the Marshall Islands that will be used to so-called "space junk."
