Shares in lithium and bromine materials company Albemarle (NYSE: ALB) soared by 32.3% in November, according to data provided by S&P Global Market Intelligence. Such a violent move doesn't usually occur without a few things going right for the company, and that's certainly the case with Albemarle in November. Let's take a closer look at why the stock came into favor last month. The stock received a slew of analyst upgrades over the last month, driven by three interrelated factors. Unfortunately, the weakness in lithium market prices (the average lithium market price was $9 per kg in the first half of 2025, compared to a range of $12 per kg to $15 kg per kg in the same period of 2024) means that Albemarle reported a net loss of $202 million in the third quarter and a $222 million loss for the first nine months.
