Mike Gaffney Named President of CSC's Federal Sector Business Development Organization
EL SEGUNDO, Calif., May 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Computer Sciences Corporation today announced that Mike Gaffney has been named president of business development for the company's Federal Sector business unit. Reporting to Federal Sector President James W. Sheaffer, Gaffney will lead efforts to capture federal business for CSC. He replaces Austin Yerks, who has been named president of CSC's Defense Integrated Solutions and Services division.
Gaffney joined CSC in 1991 and most recently served as vice president of business development for the company's divisions that support the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD). He was responsible for managing the divisions' business development account teams, new opportunity evaluation and pursuit processes, and bid and proposal management.
Previously, he led CSC's business development efforts within the DoD logistics market, and had major responsibilities for two of the government's largest and most complex enterprisewide transformation initiatives, the Army's Logistics Modernization Program and Joint Computer Aided Logistics System.
"With 23 years of experience in the federal IT market, Mike is an accomplished business development executive and proven relationship builder with customers, members of Congress, teaming partners, and employees across CSC's commercial and international operations," said Sheaffer. "He brings a level of experience, industry knowledge and technical expertise that will help strengthen CSC's federal business as we continue delivering outstanding results to both new and current customers."
Prior to joining CSC, Gaffney was with Unisys Corporation for 13 years. He serves on the board of directors of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association, and is a member of the National Defense Industrial Association, the Association of the U.S. Army and the Navy League.
Gaffney has a bachelor's degree in economics from Fordham University in New York. He also completed the Wharton School of Business Advanced Management Program.
