Live Your Golf Fantasy and Play Like a Pro
Amateur golfers from across America can test their skills on some of the
game’s most challenging courses in a
tournament delivering an authentic PGA TOUR playing experience. Those
who sign up for the "Nature Valley Amateur”
will compete at one of six of the PGA TOUR’s
premier TPC courses for a chance to vie for the amateur title at the
home of THE PLAYERS Stadium Course – TPC
Sawgrass.
Nature Valley Granola Bars – an official
sponsor of the PGA TOUR – created the "Nature
Valley Amateur” to give enthusiasts a chance
to play like a pro inside the ropes with fast greens, high rough and
Sunday pin placements. The event is managed by Nature Valley and
consists of six regional tournaments leading to the championship weekend
event at TPC Sawgrass on Nov. 2 and 3, 2007. Regional qualifying rounds
are scheduled for:
July 30 – TPC Piper Glen, N.C.
Aug. 13 – TPC Michigan, Mich.
Aug. 13 – TPC Jasna Polana, N.J.
Aug. 20 – TPC Craig Ranch, Texas
Sept. 10 – TPC Scottsdale, Ariz.
Sept. 17 – TPC Tampa Bay, Fla.

All recreational golfers – men and women –
with an established USGA handicap between 0 and 24 are eligible to
compete in the "Nature Valley Amateur.”
Winners from both flights at the regional tournaments will advance to
the championship event at the newly renovated THE PLAYERS Stadium Course
at TPC Sawgrass – where the infamous island
green at No. 17 awaits. Regional winners will also receive trophies, a
practice round of golf at TPC Sawgrass, a pairing dinner prior to the
tournament and a Championship weekend gift bag.
