Limited Brands, Inc. Selects Retail and Apparel Solutions from SAP

NEW YORK, Jan. 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- SAP AG today announced that leading upscale branded consumer packaged goods company Limited Brands has selected SAP for Retail, including the SAP(R) Apparel and Footwear (SAP AFS) application, to manage its brand portfolio, retail operations and global supply network. Limited Brands will centralize its operations on the SAP platform, replacing disparate legacy systems with SAP software and leveraging industry-specific applications such as SAP POS Data Management to increase responsiveness to market demand, gain operational efficiencies and support the ongoing growth of its brands. The announcement was made at the National Retail Federation conference held in New York, January 16-19.

Based in Columbus, Ohio, Limited Brands sells women's intimate apparel, personal care products and women's and men's apparel under various trade names and through more than 3,800 stores. With approximately 2,000 users, the company will adopt SAP's vertical industry applications for retail and apparel companies as well as the industry-leading enterprise management capabilities of mySAP(TM) ERP. Powered by the SAP NetWeaver(TM) platform, the set of solutions will allow Limited Brands to leverage existing technology investments while incrementally adopting new business management offerings from SAP.

SAP for Retail is an integrated solution set that helps retailers manage business processes across the entire enterprise, from headquarters to the store level. It allows companies to profitably serve consumer demand across multiple channels with a broad suite of retail-specific capabilities, ranging from merchandise management and planning to workforce management.

SAP Apparel and Footwear will provide Limited Brands with comprehensive control over its global supply network. SAP's integrated retail and supply chain solutions link supply directly to demand, shortening lead times and enabling companies to react quickly to changes in consumer demand.
