First American Financial Slips To Loss In Q3, Adj. EPS Tops View

(RTTNews) - First American Financial Corp. (FAF) reported Thursday that its third-quarter net loss was $1.7 million, compared to profit of $2 million last year.

Loss per share was $0.02, compared to earnings of $0.02 per share a year ago.

Adjusted net income was $128.2 million or $1.22 per share, compared to last year's $176.8 million or $1.68 per share.

Analysts on average had expected the company to earn $1.17 per share, according to figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Total revenue declined 19 percent to $1.48 billion from last year's $1.82 billion. The Street was looking for revenues of $1.61 billion for the quarter.
