First American Financial Corp. Profit Advances In Q4

(RTTNews) - First American Financial Corp. (FAF) revealed earnings for its fourth quarter that gained ground compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line came in at $221.13 million, or $1.96 per share. This was higher than $81.02 million, or $0.73 per share, in last year's fourth quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.92 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter fell 1.3% to $1.48 billion. This was down from $1.50 billion last year.
