Comcast Q3 Profit Increases, Tops Estimates - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Comcast Corp.'s (CMCSA, CMCSK) net income attributable to the company for the third quarter of 2014 rose to $2.592 billion from $1.732 billion in the third quarter of 2013. Earnings per Share for the quarter were $0.99, a 52.3% increase from the $0.65 last year.

Excluding income tax adjustments and transaction-related costs in the third quarter of 2014, earnings per share increased 12.3% to $0.73. Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.71 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Consolidated revenue for the third quarter of 2014 grew 4.0% to $16.79 billion from $16.15 billion in the prior year. Wall Street expected revenues of $16.83 billion for the quarter.

Comcast announced that its Board declared a quarterly dividend of $0.225 a share on the Company's common stock. The quarterly dividend is payable on January 28, 2015 to shareholders of record as of the close of business on January 7, 2015.
