Apple Rolls Out IOS 8

(RTTNews) - Apple's iOS 8 went live on Wednesday and the mobile giant is aiming towards greater integration between devices with the new update. The new OS is compatible with any OS device iPhone 4s and later and will allow users to not only integrate their own devices but also share more with family and friends.

Among the new features in the updated OS is a file sharing feature called Handoff that allows users to seamlessly move in-progress documents from iOS devices with a swipe. According to CNET this feature will be active in current apps including Mail, Safari, Pages, Numbers, Keynote, Maps, Messages, Reminders, Calendar and Contacts.

iOS 8 will also now allow users to share purchased apps with up to six approved other devices including purchases from iTunes, the App stores and iBooks. The "Family Sharing" option can also automatically create shared photo albums between specified devices.

In addition to the new device continuity features iOS 8 will also now let users download third party keyboards and use TouchID fingerprint scanning for third party apps. Widgets from independent developers will also now have functionality within the notification center.
