VimpelCom, Twitter Team Up To Stimulate Mobile Internet Usage - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Telecommunication service provider VimpelCom Ltd. (VIP) said it will join hands with popular social-networking site Twitter, Inc. to launch an extended portfolio of twitter services targeting its customers in emerging and developed mobile markets. The company also plans to bring additional Twitter programs to the local markets where it operates. Twitter has 284 Million active users per month, 80 percent of whom post from their mobile devices. This new partnership is expected to trigger mobile internet usage at no data cost to VimpelCom customers. VimpelCom said it will also use customized Twitter support for local and international social, sports or cultural events.
