VimpelCom Appoints Philip Tohme As CEO Of Algeria Business - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - VimpelCom Ltd. (VIP), a provider of telecommunications services, Thursday announced that Philip Tohme, currently the Group's chief technology officer, has been appointed CEO of Djezzy, VimpelCom's business in Algeria.

Vincenzo Nesci will continue as executive chairman of Djezzy. Dmitry Kromskiy, head of the CIS business unit, has decided that after more than 10 years with VimpelCom he will not renew his contract of employment with the Group, and said he will leave the firm when his contract ends on January 31, 2014.

In the interim Mikhail Gerchuk, Group chief commercial and strategy officer, will be appointed acting head of the CIS business unit following Dmitry's departure.

In addition, Jeff McGhie, Group general counsel & chief corporate affairs officer, has also decided to leave VimpelCom. He will remain with VimpelCom until the end of May 2014, the firm said.

VimpelCom expects to announce replacements for each of these positions in due course.

Further, VimpelCom noted that Mikhail Gerchuk , Anja Uitdehaag and Philip Tohme will also join the Group executive board.
