SunCoke Slips To Loss In Q3 - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - SunCoke Energy, Inc. (SXC) Friday reported a third-quarter net loss compared with profit last year, hurt by impairment charges related to discontinued operations and decline in revenues.

SunCoke recorded a net loss of $3.6 million compared with a profit of $6.2 million last year.From continuing operations, the company reported per-share earnings of $0.21, up from $0.14 a year ago. SunCoke Energy recorded a per-share loss from discontinued operations of $0.26, wider than the loss of $0.05 a year earlier.

On average, five analysts polled by Thomson-Reuters estimated earnings to be $0.10. Analysts' estimates typically exclude one-time items.

Adjusted EBITDA totaled $63.9 million, compared with $50.7 million a year earlier.

SunCoke's revenues declined to $367.6 million from $373.4 million in the previous year. Analysts projected revenues to be $393.85 million.

Looking ahead, the company expects annual adjusted EBITDA of $220-$240 million and sees domestic coke production of about 4.2 million tons.

The board recommended cash dividend of $0.0585 per share, payable on November 28 to shareholders of record on November 14.
