Silver Wheaton Profit In Line With Estimates, Revenue Misses

(RTTNews) - Canadian silver producer Silver Wheaton Corp (SLW, SLW.TO) on Tuesday reported second-quarter net earnings of $53.7 million or $0.13 per share compared with $63.5 million or $0.18 per share last year.

Revenues for the quarter were up 11% at $164.4 million compared with $148.6 million in the prior year.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters estimated earnings of $0.13 per share on revenues of $166.7 million for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said its average realized sale price per silver equivalent ounce sold in the quarter fell 17% from the prior year to $16.38.

Its attributable silver equivalent sales volume in the quarter jumped 34% from a year ago to 10 million ounces.

For the full year 2015, the company expects to produce about 43.5 million silver equivalent ounces.

Silver Wheaton has declared a quarterly cash dividend of US$0.05 per common share.
