Sierra Metals announces termination of strike action from a fraction of workers at the Yauricocha Mine, Peru

TORONTO, March 18, 2018 /CNW/ - Sierra Metals Inc. (TSX: SMT) (NYSE American: SMTS) (BVL: SMT) ("Sierra Metals" or the "Company") announces the termination of a strike action which began Friday March 16, 2018 by a small group of unionized contract employees which represented less than 10% of the workforce at the Yauricocha Mine.  The strike ended after negotiations just 36 hours after its beginning. Employees were all back on the job by the evening of Saturday March 17, 2018.

Impact of the strike on production was minimal and the Company will not be making any adjustments to the 2018 production and cost guidance.
