Eaton Vance will host a conference call at 8:50 a.m. on Tuesday, March 22 to provide callers with audio access to the live proceedings of a panel event. WHO: Moderator: Jane Bryant Quinn, an award-winning Newsweek columnist and author of the Best seller, Making the Most of Your Money, a guide to personal finance;
Panel: Avi Nachmany, co-founder and research director of Strategic Insight, an asset management industry think-tank and data resource, who oversees over 100 studies the firm publishes annually, which span innovations among U.S. funds and variable annuities to lessons and developments among asset management companies outside the U.S.;
Terry Odean, associate professor of finance at the School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley, and an associate editor of the Review of Financial Studies and the Journal of Behavioral Finance; Duncan W. Richardson, senior vice president and chief equity investment officer of Eaton Vance Management, and portfolio manager of Eaton Vance Tax-Managed Growth Portfolio;
Alice Rivlin, visiting professor at the Public Policy Institute of Georgetown University and a senior fellow in the economic studies program at the Brookings Institution. Ms. Rivlin served as vice chair of the Federal Reserve Board from 1996 to 1999. She was the director of the White House Office of Management and Budget from 1994 to 1996. Ms. Rivlin was the founding director of the Congressional Budget Office;
Mark Weinberger, vice chair of Ernst & Young, overseeing the firm's Americas Tax Practice, and former U.S. Assistant Secretary of Treasury for Tax Policy, appointed by President Bush and confirmed by the Senate in 2001. He was also appointed by President Clinton to the Social Security Advisory Board and was confirmed by the Senate in October of 2000. Prior to joining Ernst & Young, he was a partner and co-founder of the Washington Counsel law firm. He also served as Chief of Staff for the 1994 Entitlement and Tax Reform Commission;
WHAT: Panel discussion based on the results and implications of Eaton Vance's sixth annual investor survey. Topics addressed will include Social Security, tax reform, national deficit, single stock concentration, capital markets performance, inflation, retirement readiness and other personal finance issues.
