Pre-market Movers For Nov 6 (TWX, MSPD, MYGN, HUM, TSLA, ANF, CRIS)
(RTTNews) - Gainers:
Time Warner Inc. (TWX) is gaining 2 percent to $69.60. The company's third quarter earnings were higher than in the year-ago quarter. Revenues were essentially flat in the quarter as growth at the Networks segment and lower intersegment eliminations were offset by declines at the Film and TV Entertainment and Publishing segments.
Mindspeed Technologies Inc. (MSPD) is jumping 70 percent to $5.04 based on the news that it agreed to be purchased by M/A-COM Technology Solutions Holdings, Inc. (MTSI), for approximately $272 million or $5.05 per share.
Myriad Genetics Inc. (MYGN) is gaining 13 percent to $28.50 following the release of its quarterly results.
Decliners:
Humana Inc. (HUM) is down 3 percent to $91.00. The company's third quarter earnings declined from the year-ago quarter, but topped Wall Street view. Total revenues increased 6.9 percent and came above the consensus estimate. The company backed its 2013 earnings guidance, which however is below Street view.
Tesla Motors, Inc. (TSLA) is falling 11 percent to $157.30. The company's third quarter net loss narrowed from the previous year period and its adjusted earnings per share topped Wall Street estimate. Revenues surged from the previous year period and reported 5,500 Model S deliveries during the quarter. The company expects fourth quarter non-GAAP profitability to be consistent with the third quarter.
Abercrombie & Fitch Co. (ANF) is down 7 percent to $35.35. The company's third quarter sales declined 12 percent and missed analysts' estimate. Comparable sales for the quarter decreased 14 percent. The company noted that its third quarter results reflect continued top-line challenges, with overall spending among younger consumers remaining weak. Based on a projected low double digit decrease in comparable sales for the fourth quarter, the company expects full year adjusted non-GAAP earnings per share below Street view. The company also announced that it plans to close all of its stand-alone Gilly Hicks stores.
Curis, Inc. (CRIS) is falling 18 percent to $3.18. The company announced the receipt of a written notification from the FDA that its Phase 1 study of CUDC-427 has been placed on partial clinical hold following the report of death of a patient who progressed to liver failure approximately one month following the discontinuation of CUDC-427 dosing. The company also reported that its net loss narrowed in its third quarter.
