PolyOne Buys Specialty Color Firm Rutland; Terms Not Disclosed

(RTTNews) - PolyOne Corp. (POL), a provider of specialized polymer materials, announced Thursday the acquisition of Rutland Holding Co., expanding the company's portfolio of specialty color, additives and inks solutions. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The company said that Rutland will be immediately accretive to earnings and plans to discuss the transaction in more detail on its second quarter earnings call.

North Carolina -based Rutland specializes in customized formulations for consumer applications, and screen printing inks for the apparel market. The company has global sales and operations and goes to market with brand names, including Rutland, PRINTOP, QCM and Union Ink.

PolyOne said it plans to continue marketing with these brands, as well as its own Wilflex products, based on customer specification and preference.
