Playstation Network Down Again

(RTTNews) - Sony's PlayStation Network is back to normal after a few hours of breakdown. A number of features were not available to gamers, even after a successful login. There were issues related to launching games, applications, browsing and purchasing. For the PlayStation video, there were issues for accessing unlimited content.

In the past few weeks, PlayStation was down many times for maintenance. In last February, PlayStation outages during Super Bowl XLIX has attracted severe criticism for the network.

Earlier in 2011, the network was down for 23 days and 77 million accounts were compromised. In December, 2014, the PlayStation access was denied on Christmas Day, due to an attack from a hacker group 'Lizard Squad.' Microsoft's Xbox was also attacked at that time.

In November last year, Sony had suffered a severe attack from 'Guardians of Peace,' destroying several data in its servers in Tokyo and exposing Hollywood secrets. After the attack, Sony was forced to cancel the theater release of 'The Interview,' a movie based on North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
