NiSource Q4 Profit Rises; Sees 2014 Adj. EPS In Line - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - NiSource Inc. (NI) said that its fourth-quarter of 2013 net income increased to $151.8 million from last year's $134.0 million, with earnings per share improving to $0.48 from $0.43 in the same quarter last year.

On a GAAP basis, income from continuing operations for the quarter was $153.0 million, or $0.49 per share, compared with $132.1 million, or $0.42 per share for the same period in 2012.

On a non-GAAP basis, quarterly net operating earnings were $148.7 million or $0.47 per basic share, up from $135.7 million or $0.44 per basic share for the same period in 2012. Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.46 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Total net revenues for the quarter grew to $1.05 billion from last year's $967.0 million.

NiSource expects to deliver 2014 net operating earnings, on a non-GAAP basis, within a range of $1.61 to $1.71 per share. Analysts project annual earnings per share of $1.66.
