Microsoft Reveals Xbox One S, Xbox One Project Scropio

(RTTNews) - Microsoft has unveiled two new versions of its Xbox One console, the Xbox One S and Xbox One Project Scorpio, as the tech giant aims to improve the marketability of its gaming consoles.

The Xbox One S, which is a slimmer version of Xbox One, will launch in August. It comes at a price of $299 and includes support for High Dynamic Range (HDR) gaming.

Meanwhile, the more powerful Xbox One Project Scorpio will only arrive in Christmas 2017. The console will have support for high definition virtual reality as well as 4K Ultra HD gaming. Phil Spencer, head of Xbox, touted Project Scorpio as "the most powerful console ever built."

Microsoft's unveiling follows Friday's confirmation from Sony that it is developing a more powerful PlayStation 4, which the Japanese tech giant said will come with a faster processor and improved graphics including ultra high-definition 4k resolution for games.
