L-3 Communications' SPAR Aerospace and ITT Industries to Jointly Develop Electronic Warfare Solutions for the C-130 Hercules

L-3 Communications (NYSE: LLL) announced today at AsianAerospace 2006 that its SPAR Aerospace Limited (L-3 SPAR) subsidiaryhas signed a teaming agreement with ITT Electronic Systems Division(ITT Electronic Systems) for the joint development, marketing andimplementation of Electronic Warfare (EW) solutions for the globalC-130 Hercules market, as well as for other military aircraftplatforms. L-3 SPAR is exhibiting at Asian Aerospace 2006 fromFebruary 21-26 at Hall A Stand 1219.

Under the terms of the agreement, L-3 SPAR will be the primecontractor, with ITT Electronic Systems acting as the system providerand integrator for EW solutions. EW is a suite of electronic warfaretechnologies, systems and services that enable mission success andsurvivability for aircraft, and include advanced threat warning,situational awareness and electronic and electro-optic countermeasuresequipment and suites.

"With C-130s operating in war zones or in harm's way supportingcritical missions, the demand for EW has increased dramatically," saidPatrice Pelletier, president of L-3 SPAR. The L-3 SPAR/ITT Electronic Systems EW solutions will be offeredas part of L-3 SPAR's Herc2020(TM), a total life extension solutionfor E and H model C-130 Hercules transport aircraft, as well as astand-alone special mission solution for other platforms.
