L-3 Communications Announces Greg Henson to Join the Corporation

    NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 9, 2005--L-3 Communications (NYSE: LLL), announced today that Greg Henson has joined the company as vice president of Homeland Security Operations. In this newly created position, Mr. Henson will be based at L-3's Washington Operations office, reporting directly to Lieutenant General (Ret.) Patrick Hughes, vice president of Homeland Security.
    In his role, Mr. Henson will oversee L-3's homeland security business pursuits, with a particular emphasis on integrating company synergies, efficiencies and technology initiatives which will strengthen L-3's position in the marketplace. He will also be responsible for implementing business models that will coordinate and improve L-3's homeland security business development, engineering and production initiatives. L-3 believes that the overall homeland security market could grow to $4-5 billion a year in the future.
    With over 20 years of business operations, program management, engineering and leadership experience in both the defense and commercial sectors, Mr. Henson most recently served as vice president of business development for the Harris Corporation, where he joined in 2002. Prior to that Mr. Henson held a number of management positions at such companies as Raytheon, where he served as a general manager and site executive from 1993 to 2001, as well as Meggitt Avionics, Bath Iron Works and Newport News Shipbuilding. Mr. Henson served as a U.S. Navy Launch Operations Supervisor from 1978 to 1984.
