John Auerbach Joins Sotheby's to Lead Middle Market Growth Businesses in the Americas

NEW YORK, Aug. 24, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Sotheby's (NYSE: BID) is pleased to announce the appointment of John Auerbach as a Senior Vice President leading the Company's middle market growth businesses in the Americas.  As the General Manager of Sotheby's new Art & Objects Division, Mr. Auerbach will be based in New York and begins this month.

Mr. Auerbach was most recently the global head of digital and eCommerce strategy for Kate Spade & Co,  following three years as the International Managing Director for Digital and eCommerce at Christie's.  John was also a member of the founding team of Gilt Groupe, and subsequently the President of Gilt's men's business; as well as the Founder and Chairman of Eloquii, a digitally-native direct to consumer women's fashion brand.  John holds a B.A. from Duke University and an M.B.A from the Columbia Business School and was recently appointed to the Board of Directors of Monro, Inc.
