(NYSE: JEF), today announced that the firm will donate $3 million to relief efforts for the Asian tsunami.     "We are pleased to have raised $3 million for the courageous relief efforts in Asia to benefit those affected by this tragic event," commented Richard B. Handler, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Jefferies. "We greatly appreciate the participation of our clients, as well as the help of those employee-partners, outside floor brokers and other vendors, who contributed their compensation to this worthy cause."
"With the help of our clients, this is our way of using the Jefferies platform to aid those affected by this tragedy," added John C. Shaw, Jr., President of Jefferies.
