Jefferies Hires Robert Albano as Global Head of Compliance

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 3, 2005--Jefferies Group, Inc. (NYSE: JEF) today announced that Robert J. Albano has joined the firm as the Global Head of Compliance and a Senior Vice President. Most recently, Mr. Albano was the Director of Global Capital Markets and Core Compliance at Merrill Lynch & Co. Prior to joining Merrill Lynch, Mr. Albano was the Global Director of Compliance and Regulatory Affairs at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette for 18 years. Before his tenure with DLJ, Mr. Albano served as a Senior Compliance Officer for, among others, Lehman Brothers Kuhn Loeb & Co. and the White Weld division of Merrill Lynch. Mr. Albano is a past President of the Securities Industry Association's Legal and Compliance Division.

Bob Albano will be responsible for overseeing the compliance program for all of Jefferies' affiliated U.S. and foreign broker dealers and investment advisory entities," said Richard B.
