Jefferies Hires Head and Deputy Head of UK Trading and Sales Trading

Jefferies International Limited, the UK subsidiary of US-based Jefferies Group, Inc. (NYSE: JEF), today announced the hiring of Terry McCarthy as Managing Director, Head of UK Trading and Sales Trading, and Steven Hopwood, Director, Deputy Head of UK Trading and Sales Trading. These additions are the latest in a series of new hires and acquisitions reflecting the Firm’s broader strategy to expand further its full-service US investment banking platform for growth and mid-sized companies and their investors into Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Messrs. McCarthy and Hopwood will be located in the Firm’s London office, and both join from Panmure Gordon & Co where they held similar positions. In their new roles, they will be responsible for leading the development and coordination of Jefferies’ UK equities business as well as the sales trading business to European investors.
