Google Music Family Plan At $15/Month

(RTTNews) - Google Inc (GOOGL, GOOG) is planing to launch a family plan for its Play Music subscription service later this year for $14.99 a month.

The family subscription plan will cover up to six people, and is part of efforts by Google to compete with popular family plans of Apple and Spotify.

Apple Music offers a similar six-person family plan for $14.99. Spotify's family plan is $14.99 a month for two members, $19.99 for three members, $24.99 for four, and $29.99 for five members.

At a product event, Google also introduced two new smartphones: the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P, with both phones providing users a free three-month subscription to Google Music.

Nexus 5X has a 5.2-inch display and Nexus 6P comes with a 5.7-inch screen. Both phones will be compatible with Google's Project Fi WiFi service, and will utilize Android's Marshmallow operating system and fingerprint technology. The Nexus 5X is priced at $379 and the Nexus 6P $429.
