Google Acquires Timeful; Terms Undisclosed

(RTTNews) - Google Inc. (GOOG, GOOGL) said that it acquired the startup Timeful Inc., which developed an app for Apple's iOS mobile operating system that uses machine learning and data analysis, along with behavioral economic theory, to customize people's digital calendars. Financial details haven't been revealed.

Timeful has at least 19 employees, according to LinkedIn, including co-founders Dan Ariely, Yoav Shoham and Jacob Bank.

Google said Timeful employees will be joining the Google Apps group, under product executive Clay Bavor. Timeful's iOS app will still be available, but the main focus will be integrating the startup's technology into Google applications including Gmail, its newer Inbox email service, Calendar and Google Docs.
