(RTTNews) - Gilead Sciences Inc. (GILD) Tuesday reported third-quarter net income attributable to the company of $788.6 million or $0.47 per share, compared with $675.5 million or $0.43 per share last year.

Excluding items, adjusted earnings attributable to the company for the latest third quarter were $879.1 million or $0.52 per share, compared with $788.9 million or $0.50 per share a year ago. On average, 23 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters estimated earnings of $0.48 per share. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
