Energy Transfer Partners L.P. Posts Q4 Loss On Impairment Charge - Quick Facts
(RTTNews) - Energy Transfer Partners L.P. (ETP) reported a fourth-quarter net loss to partners of $541 million, compared to profit of $307 million, prior year. Loss per limited partner unit was $1.90, compared to profit of $0.62 per unit, a year ago. Loss from continuing operations was $462 million, compared to profit of $334 million, previous year. Loss from continuing operations per limited partner unit was $1.87, compared to profit of $0.56 per unit, prior year. The company noted that the decrease in income from continuing operations between periods was primarily due to the recognition of a goodwill impairment of $689 million during the fourth quarter of 2013 related to Trunkline LNG Company, LLC.
On average, 13 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report profit per share of $0.59 for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Adjusted EBITDA for totaled $986 million, an increase of $38 million over the same period last year.
Revenues increased to $12.03 billion, from $10.98 billion, a year ago. Analysts expected revenue of $11.12 billion, for the quarter.
