Energy Transfer Equity's Profit Rises

(RTTNews) - Energy Transfer Equity L.P. (ETE) on Wednesday said its limited partners' interest in net income was $282 million or $0.52 per unit in the first quarter, compared with $167 million or $0.30 per unit in the prior year.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected earnings of $0.70 per unit for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Results for the quarter included net loss attributable to non controlling interests of $63 million versus an attributable income of $280 million, the company said.

Revenues for the quarter fell to $10.38 billion from $13.1 billion in the prior year.

Operating expenses totaled $9.8 billion, compared with $12.4 billion last year.
