    CLEVELAND--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 17, 2005--Emerson Network Power, a business of Emerson (NYSE: EMR), kicked off its 45th Annual Network Power Conference this week in Cleveland, with 300 telecommunications engineers and leaders examining emerging trends and technologies in the DC power industry.

    Emerson's Network Power Conference has grown considerably from it's beginnings as the Lorain Power Conference 45 years ago. This years conference, which runs through Wednesday at Cleveland's Intercontinental Hotel and Conference Center, features presentations and expert speakers on dozens of business-critical continuity topics ranging from "Powering the Triple Play" to "Broadband Power" to "Protection for VoIP."
    At the conference, Emerson will unveil its Global Building Blocks Program, which provides telecommunications companies and other customers new reliable power solutions under one global standard - a DC power industry first. The program is the latest in a series of technology innovations from Emerson Network Power designed to provide customer-driven solutions to protect business-critical networks from costly failures.
