Emeritus Art Donation Program to Gift 10,000 Pieces of Artwork a Year to Nonprofits Across the U.S.

SEATTLE, Aug. 22, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Across the country, homeless shelters, senior centers, and other nonprofit organizations working to improve people's lives often forgo some of the niceties of life just to make ends meet.

Emeritus Senior Living, the nation's largest assisted living and memory care provider, is helping nonprofit organizations throughout the nation bring beauty to their clients by donating art to their cause. Emeritus will give up to 10,000 pieces of matted and framed poster-style artwork per year through its Art Donation Program. The company is requesting applications from nonprofit organizations, senior centers and charities that could benefit from these donations. Applications can be completed at www.emeritus.com/Art-Donation-Program.

One recent program recipient is the Poverello Center in Missoula, Montana, a shelter that provides food, shelter, clothing and essential services to the hungry and homeless.

The pieces become available when Emeritus renovates one of its senior living communities and orders different artwork as part of the renovations.

"When the artwork no longer fits the decor of the community, we replace it. The old artwork is still in excellent condition and we know there are organizations that might benefit from adding these pieces to their living or community environments."

Emeritus is currently taking requests for artwork on its website at www.emeritus.com/Art-Donation-Program.  Donations will be approved by the Emeritus Art Donation Committee, based on need and location.
