Earnings Watch For May 1 (CAH, XOM, COP, MA, VIAB, LNKD)

(RTTNews) - Cardinal Health, Inc. (CAH) is slated to report third quarter results before the opening bell. The healthcare services provider is expected to report a profit of $1.01 per share, down marginally from $1.02 per share reported a year ago, while revenues are estimated to decline to $21.72 billion from $24.55 billion in the previous year. Integrated oil company ConocoPhillips (COP) is due to post its first-quarter results. The Houston, Texas-based company is expected to earn $1.56 per share, an increase from $1.42 per share last year, and revenues are estimated at $15.13 billion, higher than the prior year's $14.65 billion. Irving, Texas-based Exxon Mobil Corp. (XOM) is also scheduled to report first quarter results before the markets open. Mastercard Inc. (MA) is expected to post first-quarter results. The earnings of the New York-based payments company are expected to climb to $0.72 per share from $0.62 per share earned a year ago. Quarterly revenues are estimated to grow to $2.14 billion from the prior year's $1.91 billion. The company's shares closed Wednesday's regular trading at $73.55. (52-wk H/L $84.75/$53.38)

Media conglomerate Viacom, Inc. (VIAB) will report its first quarter results. The earnings for the quarter are expected to rise to $1.05 per share from $0.96 per share reported a year ago. The New York-based company is anticipated to record revenues of $3.20 billion, an increase from last year's $3.14 billion. The shares of VIAB closed Wednesday's trade at $84.98. Professional social network giant LinkedIn Corp. (LNKD) is due to report its first quarter results after the close of trading. The earnings of the Mountain View, California-based company are expected at $0.34 per share, down from the $0.45 per share reported in the previous year, while revenues are estimated at $466.57 million, an increase from $324.70 million in the prior year. The stock closed Wednesday at $153.47. (52-wk H/L $257.56/$143.26)
