EA Forms Development Studio in Singapore; New Studio Will Localize EA's Popular Games for the Asian Market

Electronic Arts (NASDAQ:ERTS), the world's leadingdeveloper and publisher of interactive entertainment today announcedan initiative that will bring game development and localization toSingapore. Based in the heart of the city at No. 1, Fifth Ave. #04-07Guthrie House, the studio will focus on localizing and customizingpopular EA games into at least five different languages fordistribution throughout the Asia region. In addition, the studio ispoised to evolve into an online game development facility. Adevelopment team is already in place and the first localized projectshave already started to be shipped.

VP Operations, Asia, Ms. Irene Chua will manage the developmentstudio which currently has a development team of 20 internationalstaff from Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Singapore and Holland. EA veteranChris Thompson, Vice President and GM of EA Southeast Asia will alsobe based in Singapore to oversee EA's publishing business. Chris comesto Singapore from Tokyo where he spent seven years serving as GeneralManager of EA Japan.
