Disney Elects Christine McCarthy As CFO

(RTTNews) - Media and entertainment conglomerate Walt Disney Co (DIS) on Tuesday named Christine McCarthy as its senior executive vice president and chief financial officer, effective immediately.

McCarthy, till recently treasurer of the company, succeeds James Rasulo, whose resignation Disney announced earlier this month.

"Christine has done an incredible job as Disney's Treasurer over the past 15 years, and her strong leadership and keen financial acumen make her an ideal Chief Financial Officer," said Disney Chief Executive Officer Robert Iger.

Disney also named Kevin Mayer as its senior executive vice president and chief strategy officer.

Mayer has served since 2005 as executive vice president, Corporate Strategy and Business Development, and in his new role will oversee Corporate Strategy, Business Development, Acquisitions, among others.
