CNOOC Appoints Yang Hua As Chairman - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - The Board of Directors of CNOOC Limited (CEO, CNU.TO) announced that Wang Yilin has resigned from his positions as Chairman of the Board, Chairman of the Nomination Committee and Non-executive Director of the company.

Further, the company said it has appointed Yang Hua, an existing Non-executive Director of the company as Chairman of the Board and Chairman of the Nomination Committee of the Company.

In addition, Yang has no longer served as Vice-chairman of the Board. The changes that are mentioned become effective from today.

Commenting on Yang, the company said he joined CNOOC in 1982 and has over 30 years of experience in petroleum exploration and production. Yang served as Director and President of CNOOC from August 2011 to April 2015. He was appointed as Chairman of CNOOC in April 2015. In addition, he serves as Chairman and Director of CNOOC China Limited and CNOOC International Limited, both being subsidiaries of the Company.
