Check Point Software In Focus Ahead Of Q3 Results

(RTTNews) - Pure-play security vendor Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. (CHKP) is set to release its third-quarter results on Monday, October 26, before the market open. Analysts are looking for earnings of $0.98 per share on revenue of $402.96 million for the quarter. In the prior year period, the company reported GAAP net income of $161 million or $0.84 per share on revenue of $370 million. Non-GAAP net income was $177 million or $0.93 per share last year.

For the third quarter of fiscal 2015, the company expects revenue in the range of $392 million - $410 million and non-GAAP EPS in the range of $0.92 - $1.02 per share. GAAP EPS is expected to be about $0.12 less.

Q2 Results

In the last quarter, Check Point Software reported better-than-expected results, helped by strong demand across industries and business segments.

Net income for the second quarter increased to $162.64 million or $0.88 per share from $159.66 million or $0.83 per share in the prior year period.

On an adjusted basis, net income was $183 million or $0.99 per share, compared to $172 million or $0.89 per share earned a year ago.

On average, 27 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected earnings of $0.95 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude certain special items.

Total revenues were $395.33 million, 9% higher than the previous year's $362.60 million. Analysts expected revenues of $392.58 million.

Total revenues from products and software blades subscriptions delivered 11% growth, which was driven by strong demand across industries and business segments.

The revenue growth was across all regions during the quarter. Revenue distribution by geography for the quarter was as follows. The Americas contributed 48% of revenues, Europe contributed 37%, and Asia Pacific, Japan, Middle East and Africa region contributed the remaining 16%.
