Chat With 12 At A Time On Xbox

(RTTNews) - Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) has increased the number of people in a local Xbox One party chat to twelve from the previous limit of eight. The company has rolled out the new feature to Xbox One and the Xbox App on Windows 10.

"Garnering over 2200 votes on Xbox Feedback, we are expanding party chat to include 12 people. This feature is being enabled for all of our Xbox users - and the Xbox App on Windows 10 as well as those in the New Xbox One Experience Preview," Microsoft's Larry Hryb aka Major Nelson said.

Microsoft added that there will be no visible update for a user's app or console, as its "all server side." The feature will enable users to play FIFA online with a full team.

Microsoft noted that users in the New Xbox One Experience Preview will get an update that will add some new features.

Party text chat will add more communication options - text chat will join voice chat as a means to communicate. Other new features include a streamlined Game DVR experience, new animated avatars, updated menu for quick access to common actions, and new guide settings.
