CBL & Associates Properties, Inc. (NYSE: CBL) today announced plans for the future development of "The District at CoolSprings Galleria”, an upscale lifestyle expansion at CoolSprings Galleria in Nashville (Franklin), TN. The preliminary plans envision the construction of a vibrant open-air shopping, dining and entertainment destination featuring approximately 200,000 square feet of new premium retail space. The expansion will introduce a targeted selection of junior anchors, an array of high-fashion boutiques and quality sit-down restaurants in a luxurious outdoor atmosphere. The opening of the first phase of this multi-phased expansion is anticipated in 2011. The District at CoolSprings Galleria will feature an open-air, streetscape setting with unique and eye-catching storefronts, attractive architectural elements, extensive landscaping and pedestrian-friendly walkways. Visitors will enjoy shopping an exclusive line-up of fashion retailers as well as dining at the distinctive restaurants that will locate within The District’s restaurant cluster. The lifestyle expansion will offer curbside parking for shopper convenience as well as new structured parking providing visitors with year-round comfort and direct access to the mall and expansion. "We are pleased to announce plans for this latest enhancement to CoolSprings Galleria, which builds on the success of the center and will cater to the growing upscale demographic,” said Stephen Lebovitz, president of CBL & Associates Properties, Inc. "Early on we recognized the strength of the market developing the first significant retail presence to the area with the opening of CoolSprings Galleria in 1991. With the tremendous growth Williamson County continues to experience, it has been only natural for CoolSprings Galleria to improve and evolve along with it. We are proud that CoolSprings Galleria is recognized as the area’s premier retail destination providing its astute clientele with an unparalleled shopping experience and we are committed to maintaining that position of excellence.” Lebovitz added, "We are working closely with city officials and with top retailers to best address consumer demands and craft the best long-term plan for CoolSprings Galleria.” This announcement marks the latest in a number of recent enhancements at the CoolSprings Galleria Complex. In 2006, CBL completed a two-year, multi-million Dollar renovation of the center including upgrades to lighting, entrances, flooring, fixtures and the addition of family-friendly, state-of-the-art amenities. In June, the former Wild-Oats Marketplace, located in CoolSprings Crossing, celebrated the official name change and re-grand opening to Whole Foods Market. The store underwent a renovation offering shoppers a striking new look as well as an expanded product selection. City of Franklin Mayor John Schroer commented on the announcement, "CBL continues to demonstrate their commitment to CoolSprings Galleria and the entire Nashville area, most recently with the multi-million dollar renovation and revitalization of the center and now with the addition of The District at CoolSprings Galleria. We look forward to working with them as they finalize their plans for the expansion.” Persons interested in learning more about The District at CoolSprings Galleria should contact the following representatives:   Leasing: Paul Orth, 423-490-8260 Regional Leasing Director paul_orth@cblproperties.com   Available restaurant space: Bryant Siragusa, 423-553-8790 National Director of Mall Restaurants and Entertainment bryant_siragusa@cblproperties.com   Development: Tim Lowe, 636-536-0581 Senior Vice President - Development tim_lowe@cblproperties.com   Peripheral Property: Rusty Phillips, 423-490-8250 Vice President of Peripheral Property rusty_phillips@cblproperties.com About CoolSprings Galleria CoolSprings Galleria is a more than one million square-foot super-regional shopping destination anchored by Belk, Dillard’s, JCPenney, Macy’s and Sears.
