Cadillac Fairview to Open New Pedestrian Bridge at CF Toronto Eaton Centre on November 2

New elegant and dynamic design connects two retail landmarks and will serve more than two million people annually

TORONTO, Oct. 31, 2017 /CNW/ - On November 2, Cadillac Fairview (CF) will officially unveil the new pedestrian bridge across Queen Street, creating an integrated experience for shoppers, employees, Torontonians and tourists travelling between CF Toronto Eaton Centre and the Hudson's Bay and Saks Fifth Avenue flagship locations in downtown Toronto.

Development of the custom-designed bridge featuring enhanced aesthetics and functionality commenced earlier this year, involving a multi-phased process that required assembly adjacent to the shopping centre on James Street before being seamlessly lifted into place. The structure, which features glass and etched bronze cladding panels, provides distinct interior and exterior vantage points for users looking outward or pedestrians looking above from street level. Overall, CF has invested over $1B in CF Toronto Eaton Centre since 2010 and the opening of the bridge marks another significant milestone in the redevelopment of the iconic retail property.

Media are invited to be among the first to experience the bridge's innovative design by walking the pathway linking two major retail landmarks. The unveiling ceremony will include a short press conference, a photo opportunity and interviews with spokespeople from Cadillac Fairview. Details as follows:
