Businesses Can Now Connect, Protect and Perfect Their Communications with New Qwest Mobility Products
As more business and government customers look to connect and secure
their networks, Qwest Communications
International (NYSE: Q) makes it easy with the introduction of Qwest
Comply™ and Qwest Teleworker™–
the latest products in the Qwest Mobility™
suite of services. The new services unify the management of endpoint
security so that employees can work beyond a traditional walled
environment without compromising office security or compliance.
With the introduction of Qwest Comply and Qwest Teleworker, Qwest
customers have simple and affordable ways to protect their enterprise
networks and business-critical data whether employees are in or out of
the office. Qwest Mobility customers can now seamlessly integrate all
endpoint enforcement, remediation, VPN client integration and desktop
encryption in a single, location-agnostic solution.
Problems related to such things as responding to auditors on compliance
readiness are now a thing of the past. Qwest Comply and Qwest Teleworker
minimize the risk associated with lost or stolen computers while
enabling users to work remotely on the broadest scale possible, keeping
devices protected with firewall, anti-virus, anti-spam and encryption
tools that are all automatically updated. Administrators are also
empowered to customize access processes and procedures.
"Expanding our broadband capabilities to
customers at work and on the go is a key focus for Qwest,”
said Dan
Yost, executive vice president of Product at Qwest. "By
partnering with Fiberlink, a
trusted provider of secure mobility for the enterprise, we continue to
enhance Qwest’s solution portfolio with
offerings that put the customer first and make their lives simpler.”
Key features of the Fiberlink platform include an easy-to-use software
agent for all connectivity options, and a web-based management center
for IT policy configuration and enforcement, management of mobile
security applications and compliance controls. On-demand access options
are provided through the Fiberlink aggregate footprint. That footprint
includes more than 71,000 global WiFi hot spots and more than 1,500
hotels worldwide. Plus, access locations are updated automatically via
Fiberlink’s Mobility Platform.
In a recent Forrester TechRadar™ report,
industry analyst Chris Silva explained, "Enterprises
see mobility as a top priority and seek to provide more mobility support
to employees, implement solutions that provide seamless movement between
networks, and formalize mobile policies. The mobile network must provide
a robust, reliable connection at any potential use-point for users armed
with a device. Furthermore, including security and intelligence in
connection management is critical to making the network function like a
utility, following the user and providing access to information
anywhere, using tools like intelligent mobile access to keep the user
connected and ensure it’s done in the most
efficient method possible.” (Forrester
TechRadar™: Enterprise Mobility
Infrastructure, Q3 2008, July 2008).
Pricing for Qwest Comply and Qwest Teleworker is competitive because
customers do not need to sign up for an access plan in advance and only
pay for the services used. While available to businesses of all size,
the pricing model makes Qwest Comply and Qwest Teleworker attractive for
even the small, 1 to 100 person office.
Qwest Comply simplifies the management of industry and/or enterprise
policies and security applications and is ideal for safeguarding local
area network (LAN) desktops.
This feature provides valuable insurance for the desktop by monitoring
and flagging applications that are out of company compliance and then
fixes missing or out-of-date software, bringing it into compliance.
Qwest Mobility will encrypt all hard-drive data making it unusable by
thieves and locks down sensitive data to mitigate risk. It is an ideal
solution for securing LAN desktops.
Qwest Teleworker simplifies access virtually anywhere while protecting
company assets. Qwest Teleworker includes all the features of Qwest
Comply plus the added benefit of enabling access to company networks
whether the employee is at home or on the road. It also controls
connectivity and helps manage security software on laptops for virtually
anywhere, anytime productivity with optional VPN client integration.
