Bally Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: BYI), a leader in slots, video machines, networked, and server-based gaming systems for the global gaming industry, today announced contracts to initially provide 3,600 games for Italy’s new video-lottery (VLT) program.
Bally has entered into long-term agreements with two of Italy’s VLT concessionaires – HBG Group, for 2,000 machines; and Sisal Slot, for 1,600 machines, to provide VLT devices for the new video-lottery program being implemented throughout Italy in public venues. Bally expects to begin delivery in the fall of 2010.
"We’re very pleased about our partnership with Bally Technologies and the cutting-edge VLT games and system portfolio they are delivering for our country’s new program,” said Antonio Porsia, Chief Executive Officer of HBG Group. Francesco Durante, Sisal Slot Managing Director, said, "I believe that selecting Bally as a technological partner for our video-lottery network is a step forward in Sisal’s commitment to excellence. I am confident that the agreement will bring further added value to our products, retail network, and consumers.”
These agreements include both Bally games and Bally systems solutions, capitalizing on the Company’s position as the world’s leading gaming systems company with expertise in providing server-based systems to North America VLT and central-determination markets. Among the systems technology that Bally will deliver to Italy is CMP, a proven technology suite that includes player tracking, bonusing, promotions, and powerful reporting tools.

In related news, the Company announced that it has signed a distribution agreement with Italy-based Zest Gaming to market, sell, service, and maintain its video-lottery systems and gaming devices in Italy. Zest, one of the largest and most respected gaming technology providers in Europe, has well-established relationships with the Italian video-lottery concessionaires and brings 15 years of gaming experience in addition to 30 years of electronics experience.
"Partnering with a leading Italian company such as Zest makes good business sense for Bally, enabling us to capitalize on their already established relationships with customers and their well-entrenched sales and service network in Italy,” said John Connelly, Bally’s Vice President, International.
