Athenahealth Q2 Loss Narrows - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Athenahealth, Inc. (ATHN) Thursday said second-quarter loss narrowed to $2.2 million or $0.06 per share from $12.4 million or $0.34 per share in the same period last year.

Adjusted earnings for the quarter were $12.2 million or $0.32 per share. On average, 27 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.22 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Revenues increased 27 percent to $185.9 million from $146.3 million last year. Analysts expected revenues of $182.0 million.

Looking ahead to the fiscal year 2014, the company currently projects adjusted earnings in the range of $0.98 to $1.10 per share, with revenues ranging between $725 million to $755 million. Analysts currently expect the company to report full-year earnings of $1.04 per share on revenues of $741.02 million.
