American States Water Q2 Profit Declines

(RTTNews) - American States Water Company (AWR) reported second-quarter net income of $15.4 million, or $0.39 per share, compared to $16.6 million, or $0.43 per share in the comparable quarter last year.

On average, three analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report profit per share of $0.43 for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Total operating revenues decreased to $115.64 million from $120.70 million, while two analysts expected revenue of $121.96 million for the quarter.

On May 19, 2014, the Board of Directors of AWR approved a 5.2% increase in AWR's third quarter cash dividend from $0.2025 to $0.2130 per share on the common shares of the Company. Dividends on the common shares will be payable on September 2, 2014 to shareholders of record at the close of business on August 15, 2014.
