Akorn Q4 Profit Up

(RTTNews) - Akorn, Inc. (AKRX) Monday reported fourth-quarter profit of $16.7 million or $0.14 per share, up from $8.8 million or $0.08 per share in the same period last year.

Adjusted earnings for the quarter were $16.1 million or $0.14 per share. On average, six analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.14 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Revenues increased 19 percent to $85.0 million from $71.5 million last year. Analysts expected revenues of $83.37 million.

Looking ahead, the company has forecast full-year earnings in the range of $0.45 to $0.48 per share, with adjusted earnings in the order of $0.76 to $0.79 per share.

Revenues are projected in the order of $540 million to $560 million last year. Analysts currently expect the company to report full-year earnings of $0.85 per share on revenues of $574.55 million.
