After-market Movers For Aug 13 (AAPL, BRCD, CREE, SEAS, XONE)
(RTTNews) - Gainers:
Apple Inc. (AAPL) gained 0.44 percent to $491.74, after closing the day's regular session up 4 percent at $489.57. Activist investor Carl Icahn tweeted that he currently holds a "large" stock position in the iPhone maker. Icahn said he believe that the company is extremely undervalued.
Brocade Communications Systems, Inc. (BRCD) gained 15 percent to $7.95. The company's third quarter profit surged from the year-ago quarter and its adjusted earnings per share topped Wall Street view. Revenues declined from the previous year period, but came above the consensus estimate. The company guided fourth quarter non-GAAP earnings above Street view and revenue in line with market view.
Decliners:
Cree, Inc. (CREE) declined 16 percent to $63.79. The company's fourth quarter earnings improved from the year-ago quarter and its adjusted earnings per share matched Street view. Revenues increased 22 percent, but missed the consensus estimate. The company also forecast first quarter earnings below analysts' estimate.
SeaWorld Entertainment, Inc. (SEAS) fell 11 percent to $32.30. The company slipped to a loss in its second quarter. Total revenue for the quarter declined 3 percent and came below the consensus estimate. The company also lowered its full year of 2013 revenue guidance.
ExOne Co. (XONE) slided 16 percent to $63.30. The company's second quarter net loss narrowed from the prior year period. Revenue nearly doubled from the year-ago quarter, but missed the consensus estimate. The company also stated that it currently expects full-year revenue to be at the lower end of its previous guidance.
